Outlying administrative division of Vernole, it is situated at 14 km from the chief town. Of interest is the castle and the Messapian settlement.

» Curiosity and Information
The territory has born human presence since the Bronze age. It is believed that it become part of the County of Lecce. Originally it was given to the Del Balzo-Orsini family, then to the Guarino and then again to the Palagano and eventually to the Bozzi Colona families. Unlike the territory of Strudà, which has undergone deep modifications in its architecture over the centuries Acquarica has not developed properly, being tied to an old fashioned fortified Reneissance kind of architectural pattern, misused and banally applied until the end of the last century, when new styles in building have come about and slowly replaced it
